What is reiki?

Reiki is a gentle energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through light touch. Practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, which encourages balance and flow to support healing. It is a technique that increases a person’s supply of life force energy.

Reiki offers a range of benefits to improve your overall health and well-being, including:

  • Inducing a meditative state.
  • Stimulating natural self-healing.
  • Promoting tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery.
  • Boosting the immune system.
  • Relieving pain and tension.
  • Supporting people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and kidney dialysis.

Who can benefit?

Everyone can receive reiki, it does not matter age, sex, gender, spiritual or religious background, pregnancy or illness. It is through Reiki that we tap into our very own scientific bio field to heal and increase our life energy.

How does it work?

I travel around your body to different points like the top of your head, hover over your torso, knees, etc. and give you the reiki treatment through my hands. There will be tranquil music playing. The room will be dimly lit for your treatment. Reiki treatments last 1 hour. We will go over any areas I might need to focus on beforehand, and end a few minutes early to go over everything at the end.

My style of reiki healing can be described as intuitive. I often see guides, angels and even crossed over loved ones who want to help with the healing or have messages for you. I can often sense the cause of any imbalances in the body and chakras, or even thoughts that aren’t serving you.

How do I prepare for in-person reiki?

  • Wear comfortable clothes to your appointment & shoes you can take off easily.
  • You remain fully clothed, lay on your back, and cover up with a comfy sheet & blanket.
  • I go over any areas with you that may need attention & we discuss the process of receiving reiki.
  • Let your mind relax and try not to think of your to-do list or any stressors in your life. This is time for you!
  • I gently alert you when the treatment is over.
  • We discuss anything that came up during your session at the end.

Do I have to lay down?

Absolutely not! If you are not comfortable laying on your back, you can sit in your favorite chair for distance reiki or a zero gravity chair if it’s an in-person appointment. You also have the option of sitting up in a regular chair. Be sure to let me know if you have any special requests for in-person appointments.

How often should I get reiki?

Although reiki appointments are typically 3-4 weeks apart, you may want reiki more often if you going through something like healing from a surgery, chemotherapy, coping with anxiety or emotional struggles. You and your body will know better than anyone how often it is needed.
